How we use personal information

What information do we collect?

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Identity information: name, title and account details.
  • Contact information: billing and delivery addresses, email and telephone number.
  • Order information: products, options, measurements, delivery instructions, payments, refunds, warranties and claims.
  • Payment information: payment method, transaction status and limited references. Providers process full financial details securely.
  • Communications: emails, forms, reviews, surveys and notes or recordings of calls where used.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser, device, cookie identifiers, site activity and consent choices.
  • Marketing preferences: subscriptions, opt-outs, interests and campaign responses.
  • Service information: access restrictions, delivery evidence and product, property, fault or claim media.

Please do not send unnecessary sensitive information. Information about a health condition, disability or vulnerability voluntarily provided to adapt our service is used only where necessary with an appropriate basis and protection.

Where does the information come from?

Most information comes directly from you when you browse, create an account, order, contact us, visit the showroom, enter a promotion, request samples or make a claim.

We may also receive information from payment and finance providers; delivery, installation and repair partners; Castelan; Shopify and website services; fraud-prevention services; social platforms; or somebody acting for you.

Why do we use it and what is our lawful basis?
Purpose Examples Usual basis
Orders and services Payment, orders, delivery, installation, returns, refunds and support Contract or pre-contract steps
Warranty and claims Fault assessment, repair and cover administration Contract, legal obligation and legitimate interests
Legal duties Accounting, tax, consumer, safety, finance and insurance compliance Legal obligation
Security Transaction verification and protecting people, accounts and systems Legitimate interests and legal obligation
Improvement Analysis, training, monitoring, performance and complaints Legitimate interests
Marketing News, offers, baskets and campaign measurement Consent or permitted legitimate interests
Legal claims Evidence and establishing, exercising or defending rights Legitimate interests and legal obligation

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider necessity, proportionality and your reasonable expectations. You may object to this processing.

Who do we share information with?

We share only information reasonably needed with relevant recipients, which may include:

  • Shopify and website, checkout, hosting and account providers;
  • card processors, PayPal, Klarna, Clearpay, DivideBuy/Zopa and fraud-prevention providers;
  • couriers, installers, warehouses, suppliers and authorised repairers;
  • Castelan and warranty, insurance or claims organisations;
  • communications, analytics, advertising and service providers where permitted;
  • professional advisers, regulators, courts and authorities; and
  • parties to a genuine business sale or restructuring under confidentiality.

We do not sell personal information. Some finance providers and insurers act as separate controllers under their own notices.

Finance providers and automated decisions

If you choose finance or deferred payment, the provider may collect information for eligibility, fraud checks and administration. Klarna, Clearpay and DivideBuy/Zopa may use automated decisions or profiling and act independently under their own privacy notices. TV Bed cannot access their full scoring or overturn their decision.

Marketing and your preferences

We may market to you with consent or where law permits contact with an existing customer about similar services. Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe option.

You can withdraw consent or object at any time through an email unsubscribe link, available account or cookie settings, or by emailing us. This does not stop essential order, delivery, safety, warranty or service messages. We may retain a suppression record to honour your choice.

You have an absolute right to object to direct marketing.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our site uses cookies, pixels, tags and local storage for essential operation, preferences, analytics and marketing.

  • Strictly necessary: security, checkout, basket, account, fraud prevention and privacy choices.
  • Preferences: remembered settings and convenience.
  • Analytics: visits, navigation and performance.
  • Marketing: advertising measurement and relevance.

Where consent is required, optional technologies should not activate until allowed. Use the cookie banner or privacy control to accept, reject or change categories. Browser blocking may stop essential site functions working correctly.

International transfers

Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where required, we use an adequacy regulation, UK International Data Transfer Agreement, UK Addendum, appropriate contractual and security safeguards, or another lawful mechanism.

How long do we keep information?
  • Orders and financial records: normally up to six years after the transaction or relationship, longer where legally required.
  • Warranty, service and complaint records: for the relevant cover and a reasonable period afterwards.
  • Marketing records: while subscribed; opt-outs may remain on a suppression list.
  • Cookie and analytics data: according to the relevant technology or consent tool.
  • Unsuccessful enquiries: deleted or anonymised when no longer needed, subject to legitimate and legal needs.
How do we protect information?

We use proportionate technical and organisational protections including access controls, secure providers, staff procedures, account protections and contracts. No internet system is risk-free. We investigate personal-data breaches and notify people and regulators where law requires.
